Back in 2004 I started putting together year-end compilations of my favorite songs for my three older brothers, eventually mailing them out to a few friends here and there. Unrelated, a few years later a friend of a friend sanctioned the idiotic nickname of Bemp and this site was born. Now, I compile all my favorite tracks each month and put them into one easily digestible playlist that’s a smorgasbord of indie rock, pop, folk, and generally questionable electronica. My goal here is to provide a snapshot of some new bands and artists you might not have heard in one place, once per month.
