Electronic music so badass and hard it’d probably make this cat’s head explode, Bempology 2008 Party. Continuing on with the rest of the 2008 mixes, the Party edition carries a slew of great remixes and dance music. D. Gookin’s ‘Glad I Met You’ is one of the best beats of the year and probably decade, while Lifelike’s version of ‘This Boy In Love’ is the perfect blend of dark, expansive Aussie electro with tinges of upbeat synth work injected into the remix. This is all bubblegum brain candy, but at least it’s indie so you look cooler while singing the words to a song as dumb as Blänk’s “Shirt Off”. If there’s anything you listen to out of these 36 tracks make sure it’s the last, Bag Raiders ‘Shooting Stars’ was my favorite song of the year and continues to make it onto any driving, party, workout, or whatever activity playlist I need to put together.
