Bempology 2007 – Part 4

Bempology 2007 – Part 4, what all the Merry Pranksters are listening to these days.  Part 4 begins with Alex Gopher ‘Brain Leech’, an absolutely perfect moniker for the song as It’s one of the catchiest of the year.  Haven’t heard much from him recently, but always paired Gopher with fellow Frenchmen Phoenix and this track could stand tall against some of the best cuts off 2010’s ‘Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix’.  Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip follow up with their epic piece ‘Thou Shalt Always Kill’, which put simply, is a music hipster variation of Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen)‘.  ‘Thou shall NOT shake it like a Polaroid picture’.  Yeasayer chimes in with ‘2080’, the band’s first major single and an unbelievable and multifaceted piece of indie rock.  At times resembling the layered psychedelic bliss of Animal Collective with a chorus out of a Fleetwood Mac hit, ‘2080’ displays Yeasayer’s ability to simultaneously play multiple different genres of music and ace them all.  Jaymay helps finish off the playlist with “Gray or Blue”, which is probably for girls, and sounds like a cloud, that’s all.  It’s really nice.
